Author Guidlines

Articles submitted to the Journal of Medical Laboratory in Infectious and Degenerative Diseases must never be published in other scientific journals. Articles can be written in Indonesian using good and correct written language rules. Articles are written in manuscript form in MS Word with an A4 page size (210 x 297 mm) with a left margin of 25 cm, a top margin of 30 cm, a right margin of 20 cm, and a bottom margin of 20. Articles are written in a single-column format with the simple text layout possible. It is advisable to use the writing facilities provided in MS Word (bold, italics, subscript, superscript, equations, etc.). All parts of the text in the manuscript are written using Times New Roman 12 pt font and 1.5 space. The manuscripts that do not follow the requirement of Journal Template may be returned to authors for modification. This journal is in partnership published with Persatuan Ahli Teknologi Laboratorium Medik Indonesia (PATELKI)

Submitted manuscripts follow the headings below: Title; Authors Name; Authors Affiliation; Abstract; Keywords; Introduction; Method; Results; Discussion; Conclusions; Acknowledgments (optional); and References. The number of pages for each article is between 8-15 pages.

Paper Title

  1. The title of the article is written concisely but informative. It is advisable to use only abbreviations and formulas that are widely known. Maximum 15 words
  2. The names of all authors are written under the article's title in full but without titles. At the end of each name is given a superscript letter to identify the author's address. In addition, it is also necessary to identify the author who is responsible for the correspondence.
  3. The author's address is written below all the author's names beginning with the superscript letter that corresponds to each author's name (Department, Faculty, Institution)
  4. The correspondence author writes the e-mail address below the author's address.

Abstract

The Abstract is written in English and Indonesia with word limitation 100 to 250 words. It should be prepared in one paragraph covers introduction, objectives, method, result, and conclusions made in one paragraph. (Font: Times New Roman; 10 pt; spasi 1)

Keywords

At least 3 words up to 5 words (capital letters only found in the first keyword, separated by semicolons (;) and not ending periods in the last keyword).

Introduction

This section describes the background of the research/writing in a brief review of the literature (literature), which explains the state of the art of the research and the purpose of the research/writing. Include references (literature or relevant research results) by using the source number in each sentence after the period (1) Adjusted to the Bibliography, for example: One reason is that the number of blood donors at PMI Sleman has only reached 1% of the total population in Sleman (1). The Introduction has to be written in MS format with Times New Roman font size 12 with 1.5 spaces.

Method

This section describes the location and time of the research, population and sample, sampling techniques, data collection techniques, data analysis, and data presentation. Research that uses tools and materials needs to write the specifications of the tools and materials used. The Method has to be written in MS format with Times New Roman font size 12 with 1.5 spaces. 

Result and Discussion

This section describes research respondent characteristics, univariate analysis, bivariate analysis, and multivariate analysis (if any). Adequate data must support the results obtained from research. The study's results must answer the problems and research objectives stated earlier in the introduction. Each paragraph begins with an indentation of 1 cm and may use organizing writing into sub-headings for each variable and sub-headings in the Bold and at the beginning of words using capital letters; CANNOT USE BULLETS OR NUMBERS. If you choose a table as a data presentation tool, please select an open table (only use horizontal lines), table position: middle, sentence position: middle, and title position: top middle. If you choose figure as a data presentation please select the JPG extension (minimal 300 dpi image resolution, image position: center, title position: bottom center. Figures are sequentially numbered commencing at 1 with the figure title and number. Black & white or colored figures are allowed, and do not show border line in figure.

The section describes a comprehensive discussion supporting the research objectives and strengthening the conclusions. Each paragraph begins with a 1 cm indentation and may use organizing writing into sub-headings for each variable and sub-headings in the Bold and at the beginning of words using capital letters. CANNOT USE A BULLET OR NUMBER. The following components should be discussed: Your results relate to the original question or objectives outlined in the Introduction section, You provide scientific interpretation for your results or findings presented, Your results consistent with what other investigators have reported Or there are any differences. The result and discussion must be written in MS format with Times New Roman font size 12 with 1.5 spaces.

Conclusions

This section briefly describes the main conclusions from the results obtained. Conclusions are made short with no numbering, and conclusions answer the objectives or hypotheses of the study. Conclusions are written critically, meticulously, logically, and honestly based on the facts obtained. It would be best to suggest future experiments and highlight those underway. Each paragraph begins with a 1 cm Indent. The conclusions must be written in MS format with Times New Roman font size 12 and 1.5 spaces.

Acknowledgment (optional)

This section describes Who contributed to your research, particularly the funding of your supporters. Provide information about the individuals that assisted you in your research: advisers, financial supporters, or many others, such as ProofReaders, Typographers, and Suppliers who may have provided materials.

Reference

References are written in the Vancouver style. The main references are journals and proceedings. The comparison of primary sources is 80% compared to other sources from the total bibliography and comes from the last 5 years of publication. The number of references is at least 12 sources. Writing references for Books, Theses, Dissertations, and Websites according to reference managers (EndNote, Mendeley, Zotero, etc.) Writing a bibliography uses Times New Roman 11 points (upright) with a space of 1, space after paragraph 10 pt, and before paragraph 0 pt. Each word in the title of the library source starts with a capital letter. All citations referenced in the manuscript should be written in the bibliography so that the reference manager is required (EndNote, Mendeley, Zotero, etc.)

Author should first register as Author and/or is offered as Reviewer through the following address:http://journal.uds.ac.id/index.php/jmid. Submission Preparation Checklist

  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
