Publication Ethics

Jurnal Kesehatan dr. Soebandi is committed to maintaining high standards of publication ethics and scholarly integrity. The journal follows the guidance of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) in handling research and publication misconduct. Research involving human participants, patients, medical records, biological materials, or sensitive personal data must comply with the Declaration of Helsinki and obtain ethical approval when required. Animal studies must follow applicable ethical standards, including the International Guiding Principles for Biomedical Research developed by the Council for International Organizations of Medical Sciences (CIOMS).

Publisher Responsibilities

The publisher supports the editorial process, journal management, digital access, and timely publication. The publisher does not interfere with editorial decisions, peer review, or the scientific integrity of published content.

Editorial Responsibilities

Editors are responsible for evaluating manuscripts based on originality, scientific quality, relevance to the journal scope, ethical compliance, and peer review results. Editorial decisions must be made objectively without discrimination based on nationality, ethnicity, religion, gender, political beliefs, institutional affiliation, or other personal characteristics. Editors must maintain the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts, ensure the integrity of the double-blind peer review process, avoid conflicts of interest, and follow COPE guidance when handling suspected misconduct, disputed authorship, plagiarism, duplicate publication, or other ethical concerns.

Reviewer Responsibilities

Reviewers assist editors in making editorial decisions and help authors improve their manuscripts. Reviewers must provide objective, constructive, and timely comments. Reviewers must keep manuscripts confidential and decline review invitations if they have a conflict of interest, are not qualified to review the manuscript, or cannot complete the review on time.

Author Responsibilities

Authors must ensure that the submitted manuscript is original, has not been published elsewhere, and is not under consideration by another journal. Authors are responsible for the accuracy of the data, analysis, results, interpretation, and conclusions. Authors must properly cite the work of others and must not engage in plagiarism, self-plagiarism, duplicate publication, data fabrication, data falsification, citation manipulation, or other forms of misconduct.

Authorship and Contributorship

Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made significant contributions to the conception, design, data collection, analysis, interpretation, drafting, or critical revision of the manuscript. All authors must approve the final version and agree to be accountable for the work. Contributors who do not meet authorship criteria should be acknowledged.

Conflict of Interest

Authors, reviewers, and editors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest, including financial relationships, funding sources, employment, institutional affiliations, personal relationships, academic competition, consultancy, or intellectual property matters that may influence the research, review process, or editorial decision.

Research Ethics and Informed Consent

Research involving human participants must obtain ethical clearance from an appropriate ethics committee or institutional review board when required. Authors must state the ethical approval number and committee name in the manuscript. Informed consent must be obtained when required, and the privacy, confidentiality, and rights of participants must be protected.

Plagiarism and Duplicate Publication

Jurnal Kesehatan dr. Soebandi does not tolerate plagiarism, self-plagiarism, duplicate publication, data fabrication, or data falsification. Manuscripts may be screened using plagiarism detection software. Manuscripts with ethical violations may be rejected, corrected, or retracted according to the journal’s policy and COPE guidance.

Data Sharing and Reproducibility

Authors are encouraged to retain research data and make it available when reasonably requested by editors, reviewers, or readers, while respecting ethical approval, informed consent, confidentiality, institutional policies, and privacy regulations.

Complaints and Appeals

Authors may submit complaints or appeals in writing to the editorial office if they believe an editorial decision or publication process involved misunderstanding, procedural error, or ethical concern. The Editor-in-Chief will review complaints or appeals fairly and may consult relevant editorial board members or independent experts when necessary.

Allegations of Misconduct

Allegations of research or publication misconduct, including plagiarism, duplicate publication, data fabrication, data falsification, unethical research, authorship disputes, citation manipulation, peer review manipulation, or undisclosed conflicts of interest, will be investigated by the editorial team. If misconduct is confirmed, the journal may reject the manuscript, issue a correction, publish an expression of concern, retract the article, or take other appropriate action in accordance with COPE guidance.

Corrections, Retractions, and Expressions of Concern

Jurnal Kesehatan dr. Soebandi may publish corrections when errors are identified in published articles. Retractions may be issued when findings are unreliable or when serious ethical violations are confirmed. Expressions of concern may be issued when serious concerns exist but the investigation is ongoing or inconclusive. Corrections, retractions, and expressions of concern will be clearly linked to the original article.

Intellectual Property and Copyright

Authors must ensure that the manuscript does not infringe the intellectual property rights of others. Copyright and licensing terms are clearly stated on the journal website and in the full text of published articles.

Post-Publication Discussion

Readers, authors, and researchers may submit comments or concerns regarding published articles to the editorial office. The journal will review post-publication discussions and take appropriate action when necessary, including clarification, correction, expression of concern, or retraction.

Use of Artificial Intelligence Tools

Authors who use artificial intelligence tools in writing, editing, data analysis, image generation, or other parts of the research and publication process must disclose their use when appropriate. Artificial intelligence tools cannot be listed as authors. Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, integrity, and ethical compliance of the manuscript.
